Merry Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas this year with Morgan. Although she's still too young to understand what's going on, she enjoyed all the visiting and made out like a bandit. We spent a lot of time with family and friends, took a drive through the light display on the Indian Reserve, and ate so much that I don't think my new coat fits me anymore!

We had both of our families over on Christmas morning for breakfast and gift opening. Although Kevin had suggestions for a smoother running breakfast next year, a good time was had by all :)

Everybody had their own stocking. Santa overlooked some bad behaviour over the last year and nobody got stuck with a lump of coal.

My uncle Charles and ant Sally sent this coat for Morgan last year, and she looked so cute in it. Our little snow bunny.

Isn't this outfit adorable?

Yes Indeed, I'm Walking

Well, it has happened. Morgan has been taking a few steps between Jody and I for the last month or so. Yesterday she up and walked from the television at the back of the house to the front door. Here is a picture of her on the move. She still prefers to hold onto one finger when she walks, but its only a matter of time. Congratulations little girl!!!

Happy 1st Birthday Morgan!

It has been one year today since we became parents. I remember driving to the hospital thinking that we were going there without a baby and would be coming home with one. I knew we were prepared in that we had all the supplies we would need, but really didn't know if we had the skills we would need to be "good" parents. As we were passing cars on the road, I was thinking most of those people were going to work, and we were heading into one of the most life changing events we would ever experience.

Here we are a year later, and we feel so blessed to have Morgan in our lives. From being up in the middle of the night standing over her bassinet and worrying that she was sleeping too much, to watching her accomplish things for the first time, and laughing until our cheeks hurt when she's being the little comedian. It has been an amazing year, and we can't wait for what's to come.

Celebrate

We've had an action packed weekend around here, with Bella having a Christmas party for all her little buddies, Patrick's birthday celebration, and Morgan's birthday party. So much excitement, so little time.

Bella's party was fun for the kids, and of course a great photo opportunity.

We went out for Pat's birthday and had a rip roaring time. He was swinging from the chandeliers by the end of it, but I guess that's what birthdays are for. Happy Birthday Pat!

Morgan had her first birthday party today. She saw helium balloons for the first time, tried cake and ice cream for the first time, and had lots of family over to help her celebrate. All in all, she had a great time.

Of course, she doesn't like anything the first time, and cake was no exception. Unlike her friend Emily who loved her birthday cake, Morgan gagged. What a girl.

Here are four generations of Deans.

She really liked her balloons.

Oh Christmas Tree

This weekend we went on a little adventure with the Wheatons to cut down our Christmas trees. It snowed the night before, so it was the perfect setting. After we cut down the trees, we had some hot chocolate in the tree farm owner's camp. Now we're really starting to get into the Christmas spirit.
