It's July, so where is summer?

Going by the calendar, it is July 6, which is well into summer, but you wouldn't know it if you are living in old Freddy Beach. I think we've had something like 25 straight days of rain. UGH! I wonder if this is what is like to live in Vancouver or Ireland? If so, I'd be moving. At any rate, there was a break in the rain on Canada Day so we headed down to Officer's Square to listen to some live kids' music. We are big fans of Scotty and the Stars, and they seem to be the only live music we've been taking in lately. Good thing they are great! We ran into the Keats' and the kids had fun. Thanks for sharing your picnic!

It was all going well until this handsome little devil (Charlie, not Jody) pooped his drawers and I realized that the diaper bag was missing its key supply - diapers! So, that was the end of the Canada festivities for us. Next year I must remember a) picnic, and b) diapers.

They threw a little Rusted Root into their set which I appreciated :)

Here is sleeping beauty while we were trying to wake her up to take her to the fireworks. If I had been trying to sneak in there and not wake her up, you know she would have been instantly sitting bolt upright. This time we had a heck of a time getting her up. If I could add sound effects, you would hear her snoring. At this point I was thinking fireworks were a bad idea, but Jody and Morgan went out and she loved them!

They met up with Nanny and Grampy. I can't tell who looks more excited in this picture.

Yesterday was a wild day. It went back and forth between rain and sun all day. While the sun was out, the kids took advantage and got in the pool. Charlie did a little skinny dipping. I told him he might as well take full advantage of the opportunity now, because in a few years this will be scandalous.
