A day at the beach

We went to the beach on Labour Day weekend for the afternoon and the kids had a ball. Charlie spent a fair amount of time trying to eat sand, but otherwise a good time was had by all.

We took Morgan for a haircut and she wanted it cut short (like mommy's), so short she got. I think it looks so cute! However, it somehow makes her look older and taller :( She is also sporting her new "work" shirt in this picture. After she outgrew her old work shirt, she asked us to buy her a new one.

Soccer Star

I'm a little late with this post. Another soccer season has come and gone. Morgan was on the Flounders team with Ava and Kya, and "Giant" Pete was her coach (Ava's dad). It was great going back to work after being on maternity leave with Ava and Kya's mommys knowing that we would still have our weekly get togethers at the soccer field.
In reality, soccer was almost like torture for me :) It seemed like an impossible task to leave work at 4:30, get across the river to pick up the kids, get home, prepare and eat supper, then turn around and be up the hill for 6pm. Torture! Thankfully, Art and Gloria made supper for us every Monday night after the first week to avoid some of the time crunch, but it was still torture! Even though I got to see my friends every week, I had a 3 year old attached to my leg for most of every game. When I did get her on the field, it would require my full soccer participation. Then there was the mandatory trip (or two) to the porta-potty every game. To top it off, Charlie hated being at the soccer field. Picture me holding a crying, screaming Charlie while trying to shake the 3 year old growth from my leg. Snack time was still the highlight this year. Somehow, despite all of that, Morgan asked me just last week which soccer team she would be on next year. Ah yes, there's always next year.
